There has been a lot of conversation over the years about the potential for a conflict of interests regarding the business relationship between Colonel Kirk Frith of the VPSO and USK9 Security, a local company in Vermilion. The VPSO buys and trains their K9 Deputies through USK9 LLC while Col Frith is employed by both entities.
Col Frith and Sheriff Couvillon have both gone on the record to say there is no conflict of interest. And there is no better time to put out some propaganda then while the Sheriff’s election is ramping up.
The audacity of it all ~
From Page 6A of the Abbeville Meridional newspaper June 28, 2015:
'USK9 earns more world-wide attention, training dogs for Kuwaiti company'
... Colonel Kirk J, Frith, the Chief deputy of the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s office was also present for the graduation. “ Although I own no stake or shares in USK9, my role in this company over the years has been one of professional guidance to a very close friend....
I copied this off Col. Kirk Frith’s professional LinkedIn account an hour ago: (7am PST)
Lafayette, Louisiana Area - CHIEF DEPUTY at VERMILION PARISH SHERIFF OFFICE
A partner in USK9 Security L.L.C., serving as the Operations Manager. On the Board of Directors for URSUS K9 Concepts.
January 2008 – Present (7 years 6 months)
July 1984 – Present (31 years)
How can you be the Operations Manager for a global L.L.C. and claim you have no stake in its success? I told ya the article in the Meridional was merely propaganda.
You understand, Sheriff Couvillon’s only competition in the upcoming election is Toby Walker. Toby is a well respected K9 officer in Abbeville and he earns the respect he receives. On the other hand, the VPSO is famous for using propaganda to twist votes out of the unsuspecting. In fact, I bet Kirk wishes he could still post on Topix all day from his VPSO desk. In a few days I’ll explain exactly why Col Kirk Frith isn’t allowed to do that anymore, don’t miss the next chapter: ‘Here’s Your Cooyan’.
